History

  • 1979 SKITTLES candies roll out across the US in force in the original flavor combination of Orange, Lemon, Lime, Grape and Strawberry. At first they're imported, but from 1982 SKITTLES candies are manufactured in the U.S.
  • 1989 New varieties of SKITTLES candies are introduced including Tropical (with flavors like Banana, Kiwi and Mango) and Wild Berry (with Raspberry, Wild Cherry and Strawberry flavors).
  • 2000 SKITTLES candies turn tough as hard-hitting SKITTLES Sour make their debut.
  • 2004 Something to really get your teeth into... the fruit flavored SKITTLES Bubble Gum is launched.
  • 2005 Why have just one fruit flavor in a shell? SKITTLES Smoothie Mix arrives, with each sweet blending two different fruity tastes.
  • 2006 X-treme Fruit Skittles® Gum is launched, the brand's first limited edition variety.
  • 2009 New Skittles® Crazy Cores™ deliver two amazing fruit flavors in each and every bite for an even tastier fruit chewy experience!
  • 2010 SKITTLES introduces Fizzl'd Fruits™ to its portfolio, a chewy candy that fizzes in your mouth to deliver a tongue-tingling sensation.
  • 2010 SKITTLES surpass 10MM fans on Facebook.
